Cyclones also known as separators, are one of the basic technologies for the mechanical separation of air from polluting dust. In addition, FD cyclones are used in welding fume extraction systems, where they serve as spark catchers. They are used in many industries as components of dust collection systems that can be installed on silos and steel structures, increasing their versatility and effectiveness in dusty areas. These cyclones are characterized by their robust design and efficiency in dust removal, which helps protect the working environment from air pollution.

Cyclone dust collector - the main structural elements

• Body (Housing) - is one of the most important structural elements, which directly affects its performance, durability and operational safety
• Air Inlet - Air having dusty impurities is introduced tangentially into the body, which initiates a swirling motion. The air inlet in the separator is a key element of its design, which affects the efficiency of separation of dusty impurities.
• Air Outlet - Located centrally at the top of the body, it allows clean air to be discharged. It is often equipped with a deflector that prevents larger fractions from entering.
• Filtrate tank - Responsible for the accumulation of separated solid waste.

Depending on the size of a particular model, cyclones are built with two or three parts bolted together. Cyclones are made as right or left, depending on the customer's needs.

How does a cyclone dust collector work?

• Air Input: Dirty air is introduced into the chamber in a tangential manner, which means that the air stream of the dust collector at the right angle enters causing it to spin
• Centrifugal Force: The gas moves in a downward spiral along the inner wall of the cyclone. The centrifugal force acts on the solid particles, which are heavier than the gas, forcing them to move toward the walls of the unit
• Purified gas: The particle-cleaned gas, upon reaching the bottom of the cyclone, changes direction and travels upward through the central outlet, drying the unit. Particles collected on the walls fall under the influence of gravity to the lower part of the cyclone, where they are collected in a tank or disposed of using a suitable system.
